Dogwood JRT Club Summer Newsletter Our summer swim/dock diving gathering was a success - - seems like almost everyone’s Jacks liked swimming, except a few! This is about the only kind of dog event we could do in the heat we are experiencing this year. July & Aug are usually months when we do not have play days for the same reason. Atlanta Dogworks has a nice facility in Ball Ground, GA. The Canine Ranch in Canton, GA also has a dock diving pool. As Labor Day approaches, so does our 6th annual 2 day JRTCA sanctioned trial, and with it, lots of chores to be done. The BOD will gather together on an upcoming weekend to iron ribbons! Yes, we have plastic bins of ribbons this year that need attention! No date is set yet for this chore. Prizes have been ordered and dinner for Sat night is arranged; just include your order in when you send your entries. If you aren’t entering your dog, just fill out a dinner order form and send a check or use pay pal - turbo@ellijay.com. This is our first try at dinner after the raffle Sat evening; it will be catered by Williamson Bros. Bar-B-Q, with a choice of chicken or ribs, 4 sides, tea and cookies. The club will provide a cake. THE RAFFLE! Please consider sending a gift basket, or a donation for the raffle. We help Russell Rescue with part of the proceeds from this. Billie Roach will organize the raffle on Sat morning; any and all donations will be accepted! Our next actual play day will be Oct. 30th at the Saddle Club in Cartersville; the same place our Labor Day trial is held. We will also hold our Annual General Meeting with the election of officers. There will be a covered dish lunch, with the club providing hamburgers and hotdogs. Faith Letendre
